Scale Highlighting
Highlights notes that belong to the selected scale, making it easier to stay in key.
- Enable/Disable: Toggle scale highlighting on/off
- Visual Feedback:
- Notes in the scale are displayed with normal coloring
- Notes outside the scale are displayed with a darker green color (washed out appearance)
- Scale Type: Choose from various scale types (major, minor, etc.) or use project default
- Base Note: Set the root note of the scale (0-11, corresponding to C through B)
Scale Types
- Project Default: Uses the scale settings from the project
- Scale: Use a predefined scale (major, minor, etc.)
- Custom: Define a custom scale by selecting which scale degrees to include/exclude
Pitch Range
- Min Pitch: Lowest pitch available in the editor (default: -69)
- Max Pitch: Highest pitch available in the editor (default: 58)
- The pitch range determines which notes are visible and editable
Pitch Navigation
- Side Panel: Click or tap on the side panel (pitch labels) to preview notes
- Notes play while you hold the click/tap
- Useful for finding the right pitch before placing notes
- Arrow Keys: Use Up/Down arrow keys to move selected notes by semitone
- Octave Movement: Use keyboard shortcuts to move notes by octave (12 semitones)
