Grid Settings

The grid helps align notes to musical subdivisions:

  • Grid Size: Number of subdivisions per beat (1-32)
  • 1 = whole notes
  • 2 = half notes
  • 4 = quarter notes (default)
  • 8 = eighth notes
  • 16 = sixteenth notes
  • etc.
  • Snap to Grid: Toggle whether notes automatically snap to grid divisions
  • When enabled, notes align to the grid when moved or created
  • Hold Shift while dragging to temporarily disable snapping
  • Record Grid Subsize: Additional subdivisions used only during recording (1-32)
  • Allows finer quantization during live recording
  • Does not affect manual note placement
Grid Snapping Behavior
  • During Note Creation: New notes snap to the grid (unless Shift is held)
  • During Note Movement: Notes snap to the nearest grid division when released
  • During Note Resizing: Note start and end times snap to grid divisions
  • Snap Radius: Notes within a certain distance of a grid line will snap to it
  • Visual Feedback: Grid lines are displayed to show available snap positions
